We are Christian Twelve Steppers. We believe that the Holy Bible is the
authoritative Word of God, and we believe that the 12 Steps used to
treat alcoholism and other addictions were given by God Almighty. We
hold as self-evident that Bill Wilson’s original 12 Steps having the
same meaning as biblical principles are biblical principles. We operate
the Twelve Stepper's House and the Christian Twelve Step Academy. We are
a faith-based 501c3 Christ-centered substance and behavior abuse
rehabilitation program for adult men and women. We are headquartered at:
Christian Twelve Step Academy
20831 W. Chicago St.
Detroit, MI 48228.
The Twelve Steppers House' mission is to
promote and utilize the historically correct understanding of the Twelve
Steps for their maximum therapeutic and spiritual benefit. Our school is
the Christian Twelve Step Academy, its mission is to fulfill the
original 12 Steps by placing within sufferers of addiction Christian
character the effective
inhibition against acting on addiction.
We utilizes the original 12 Steps that were presented by Bill Wilson in 1938 and were rejected by
those who would go on to form Alcoholics Anonymous utilizing a modified
version of the Twelve-Step.The Christian Twelve Step Academy provide
substance abuse education for our residents and to individuals in the
community. Our rehabilitation services take place in the building of the
Christian Twelve Step Academy. Our philosophy is that trying very hard
rarely frees a person from alcoholism and other addictions, there is a
difference between trying and training. Trying to do something is
attempting real hard to do something without preparation. Training is
taking necessary steps to put oneself in the best position and or
condition to achieve a desired outcome. Practicing the application of
the original 12 Steps is training in Christian living and with such
comes freedom from addictions.
We believe our teaching responsibility is best fulfilled by focusing on
where the Holy Bible speaks directly, not indirectly, to regaining
self-control lost to substance and behavior abuse. Our Academy is not
the forum to discuss biblical matters that do not directly relate to
deliverance from sin-sickness or to solve any religious controversy. We
believe that such is best addressed in churches. This emphasis we
believe is sufficient to secure our mission. We encourage our students
to have membership in the various Christian churches. Our mission within
the Body of Christ is spiritual warfare against the stronghold of
substance and behavior abuse. All other religious concerns are answered
in the religious denomination of our student’s choice.
